About a month ago, I went out to lunch with a friend of mine who had moved from Kentucky to Virginia. She lives about an hour north of Stafford. When she moved to Virginia a few years ago, she got it in her head that she wanted to become a runner. And runner she became. I’m not sure if she’s run a full marathon yet but I’m pretty sure she’s run a half. Today I venture out to my first yoga class at the Fredericksburg Healing Arts & Yoga Center to immerse myself in the yoga culture of this area. I’m not sure quite what to expect but I can’t wait. It’s a yoga I/III class so chances are, I won’t know all the asanas. But I go with an open mind and smiling heart, ready for what life brings.

I quit taking yoga classes about three months before we moved to Stafford, Virginia. It happened one Sunday at Barefoot Works Yoga. I was deep in the middle of a Yoga for Stress Relief class when our teacher asked us to do a third-eye meditation.
